Reagan Ratcliff – University Baptist Church Parent
“April Lintz has made an eternal impact in the life of our daughter, Landrey, as well as so many other young children through her work at University Baptist Church. April has an incredible heart for the Lord and the work that she does in Jesus’ name shines brightly through the children’s ministry at UBC. There is a passion that she has for each individual child and it shows through her planning, her teaching, and the desire that she has to see children come to have a personal relationship with Christ.
Having seen our daughter grow in her relationship with the Lord, I can’t begin to express and put into words how truly grateful I am for the leadership of April Lintz. As we look at the work that God is doing in the life of our church, I am excited to see what the Lord has in store and I believe that God has a plan for April. The spiritual foundation that is set in the early years of a child are vital and having witnessed personally the work that April has done, I fully believe that our children’s ministry will flourish and we will continue to see the spiritual growth of young children as they mature into their adolescent years. It is for these reasons that I highly recommend April Lintz .”
Melanie Tate – Former Early Learning Center & Preschool Director
“When I decided to retire as the ELC and preschool Sunday school director at UBC, I wanted the best person available to replace me. I wanted someone who loved God and had a personal relationship with Him but also loved and understood preschoolers. I also wanted this person to know how important the early years of life are for not only physical and social development, but also spiritual development. I thought they should be much more computer literate than I was so that they would be able to use all the new technology that is available.
I had known April Lintz for many years. She worked for me in Kids Night Out and Sunday school and the ELC while she was finishing her degree before she started teaching art in a FWISD school. I admired the way she stuck to her goals and finished her degree and persevered in her efforts to find a full-time teaching job. I helped with a wedding shower when she and Kevin got married and gave a baby shower when Peter was born (even though he was born early on the day of the shower so Kevin and April couldn’t come). So, I have known her in many different areas of her life.
After Peter was born, April taught for me again at the Early Learning Center in the dragonfly class (four-year-olds). I was so excited to get such a wonderful teacher in that class. She was very patient and low-key with the children and gave them many opportunities to be creative. Years before April started the ELC art show and each year it grew until it became a major church event. During this time she also began work on her masters at DBU and again showed her perseverance and determination to further her education.
April has done an outstanding job as the children’s director in the last few years, even with all the difficulties and challenges that have come up. With her knowledge of technology, she made it possible for the preschoolers and children to have Sunday school lessons every week and worked to keep everyone informed and connected during the early months of the pandemic. She and Kevin have done the best job I have ever seen with the children’s sermons, and the Backyard Bible Clubs she organized have helped us reach outside the church.
April is known and loved by the members of UBC and she loves our church. She loves our children and she knows what is appropriate for each ages because she understands how they grow and learn. She knows the value of early spiritual education and she truly wants to plant the seeds to lead children to a personal relationship with God. She loves the Lord and wants to share His love with our children. Because of the qualities I’ve mentioned and because of the job she has done as the Director of Preschool & Children, I am proud and happy to recommend April Lintz”
Jason Simon – Minister to Students
“At the time of this writing, April Lintz and I have served joyfully alongside one another in Ministry for nearly four years. Working with her has been an invaluable experience for me. Her passion for children is matched only by her heart for the Lord.
Along with that heart, April brings the highest level of professional excellence to all that she does. Any institution would be fortunate to have April in high level leadership.”
Rebecca Sun – Youth Volunteer
“Working with April at the youth girl’s retreat as co-facilitators was an amazing experience. She hadn’t worked much with our specific youth group before this weekend, but it felt like she had always worked with our youth girls by the way she interacted with them. She is a person who sees others and wants to know their hearts. Her sacrifice to give up a weekend away from her family already spoke volumes of how she loves on other parts of the local church body, but her willingness to help serve, teach, and disciple them was another level of love and devotion towards the students as well as the leaders that went.
April has so much life experience, and she was able to share that with these young impressionable students. I know they were just as impacted as I was by having her with us and being open to share her stories. She is one of the easiest people to work with, and at the retreat, she was efficient in everything she did, whether that was helping to cook, clean, or get the girls to bed. If anything needed to be done, even if it was a tedious task, April was always willing to humbly do it. April has a presence of peace, and her flexibility in every situation created an environment of safety for both the leaders and the kids. My experience at this youth retreat would not have been the same if she was not there.
If I had another opportunity in the future to work alongside April Lintz, I would take it in a heartbeat.”
Dr. Sharon Gritz – University Baptist Church Member
“April has a heart for the Lord and seeks to know Him and His direction for her life. She is responsible and trustworthy. She is organized and creative. As one who tends to be a perfectionist, April works diligently to make things flow smoothly. She plans for and carries out her assigned responsibilities. She likes to learn and seeks understanding and resources when she has questions. She is both a serious and fun-loving person. She welcomes others and extends friendship.
April has shown an aptitude for ministry even before serving on staff at UBC. She often volunteered in multiple areas of the church as a lay leader. She applies her training in administration and education leadership, as well as her artistic background, to her roles in children’s ministry. She loves children—and adults—and wants them to grow in their understanding of Jesus and what it means to follow Him. Having a child herself, April identifies well the needs of children and their families—spiritual, emotional, physical, and “logistical” needs. She plans fun activities and events that relate to the spiritual formation of children. She encourages children to serve the community and share Jesus with others. She designs ways to include children in church-wide events. April is a “team player.” She works well with and supports other ministerial staff. She equips others for the work of service in the church by enlisting, enabling, and encouraging them to help in the various children’s areas.”
