I am a creative, curious, problem solver, who loves to think of new ideas and ways to accomplish tasks. I have strong administrative skills and am able to communicate and develop a shared vision and lead a team to reach organizational goals.
I earned my undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University where I studied art education. After college I worked as an art teacher in the Fort Worth Independent School District for 7 years. I resigned to raise my son who is now in grade school at St. Paul Lutheran School and to further my education.
In 2018, I earned a dual masters degree in Educational Leadership and Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University and successfully completed the requirements to obtain a Texas principal certificate.
From 2017 to 2022 I was the Director of Preschool & Children and Director of the Early Learning Center Director at University Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. It is my desire to be an advocate for children and a support to their families as their children grow.
I am currently working as a potter in my private studio called Possum Pottery Texas. I find much satisfaction creating beautiful functional objects. I appreciate the sensory experience of working with clay and the life lessons that can be learned from the process. I enjoy working with students of all ages and helping others begin a pottery journey of their own.
In my free time I enjoy exploring nature, and building things. I love spending time with my husband Kevin and our son Peter playing games as a family.
A bit of wisdom that is important to me is, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NASB)
